M.B. Designs earns Remodeler of the Year in their first attempt at battling affordable housing.
In 2022, M. Brewer Properties purchased a foreclosure in hopes to find a gem in Selah, Washington for Melissa's son & his fiancé. What we got was a whirlwind of surprises, termites, red tape, months of holding periods for attorneys & county permitting, and an 11th hour decision that M.B. Designs could enter the home in the 2023 Tour of Homes. It was an honor and MANY sleepless nights to get to remodel this home for our first recipients and so much gratitude for all the trades, inspectors, and teammates (NOT termites!!!) that made it all possible!

BIAW celebrates three new Professional Women in Building Councils
National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) chair Luellen Smith celebrated the charters of three new PWB councils in Washington: Central Washington Home Builders Association (1), Master Builders Association of Pierce County (2), and Building Industry Association of Whatcom County (3). BIAW now has six chartered local association PW councils.

Professional Women in Building (PWB) Kickoff Meeting!
The Central Washington Home Builders Association (CWHBA) hosted a Professional Women in Building (PWB) interest meeting on May 1st to explore the possibilities of launching a PWB chapter in Central Washington. The event was a success, bringing great energy and connections!

CWHBA Names M.B. Designs "Remodeler of the Year in 2023!"
Melissa Brewer of M.B. Designs received the Central Washington Home Builders Association (CWHBA) 2023 Remodeler of the Year award during the Anchored in Excellence CWHBA Gala, presented by Les Schwab Tire Center on December 14th, 2023, at the Yakima Valley College Conference Center. The event honored industry leaders and installed CWHBA's 2024 leadership. CWHBA Government Affairs Director Andi Hochleutner presented the award.

We made the cover!!! For the 2019 Tour of Homes held in Yakima & Kittitas Counties, MBD partnered with Perry Tech Institute to kick off the FIRST year the students in every trade built a home to SELL. MBD provided and installed the interior finishes as well as provided specifications for the exterior finishes provided by others. Also featured: Furniture & Accessories. Well that was new! MBD partnered with Adventurer LP, a Canadian-based company that manufactures campers & RV's here in our Yakima Valley. We felt more anxious about designing these campers than we do multi-million dollar tour homes. Mass production...you have ONE shot to get it right for thousands!
